The project

PandoREH develops Renewable Energy Hubs that bring renewable generation, energy storage, grid infrastructure and local energy demand together.

Our role was to help turn a complex proposition into something people could quickly understand — and build a communications structure that could grow with the company.

01 / The challenge

Giving complexity structure.

PandoREH needed to explain a technically complex model to very different audiences.

Landowners, local authorities, communities, technology partners and industry each needed different levels of information, while the core proposition still had to feel clear and consistent.

The challenge was not to remove the complexity, but to give it structure.

02 / The strategy

Start with the idea, then introduce the detail.

We reviewed how established and emerging companies in the sector were presenting similar propositions, using that research to explore different ways PandoREH could structure its story and distinguish its approach.

We developed the website architecture, messaging hierarchy and page structure around one simple principle: start with the idea, then introduce the detail.

Rather than leading with individual technologies, the site first explains what PandoREH brings together and why. From there, visitors can move deeper into the infrastructure, technologies, projects and thinking behind the model.

Almost all of the website copy was developed as part of this process, from the main proposition and page headings through to technical and project-specific content.

Working closely with the website designer and developer, we also helped guide the visual and content direction of the site, making sure the design supported the way the story needed to unfold.

Brand proposition

Growing a connected energy future.

PandoREH works across generation, storage, grid infrastructure and energy demand, so the brand needed a line that could sit above any one technology.

Five words that capture both what the company is building and the wider ambition behind it.

The line now appears across the website, LinkedIn and company communications.

03 / Making complexity easier to navigate

The right level of detail, in the right place.

A large part of the project involved deciding what needed to be said, where it needed to appear and how much detail each audience needed.

Headlines communicate the main idea quickly. Supporting copy explains why it matters. More detailed sections give technical readers somewhere to go without making every visitor work through the same level of information.

That structure allowed the site to speak to several audiences without becoming several different websites.

04 / Building a point of view

The work extends beyond the website.

We spoke with experts in the company to produce articles on developments in energy infrastructure, grid reform and renewable technology, translating technical and regulatory subjects into clear narratives connected to the company's wider proposition.

Recent subjects include Ofgem's demand connection reforms and the role of hybrid grid connections in a changing UK energy system.

Ongoing

A communications structure designed to grow.

Our work with PandoREH continues as the company develops. We support its communications strategy, write and edit technical content and articles, and advise on messaging, website structure and future changes as new projects and opportunities emerge.
